Vocal Music Department Update

This month’s guest blog was written by Mrs. Nickie French, Director of Choirs for Bucyrus City Schools. For the past three years, Mrs. French has served as an elementary music specialist at Bucyrus Elementary School. She is now pleased to take on the role of choir director at Bucyrus Secondary School.

The start of the New Year has brought us many exciting happenings in the Vocal Music Department!

Musical rehearsals for “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” have started up and the cast members are beginning to grow into their characters already. Some of the star players in the show include Domenick Schifer as “Charlie Brown,” Darren Powers as “Snoopy,” Alex Bloomfield as “Lucy,” Levi Vermillion as “Linus,” Adrienne Lohr as “Sally,” and Austin Stevens as “Schroeder.” I’ve also been working hard with our two assistant directors, Mrs. Karolyn Rebon and Miss Sara Wenig, to be sure that the show is a success!

In showchoir news, The Players as well as Vocal Motion will be performing at the Bucyrus Education Foundation’s Barbeque Chicken Dinner on Friday, January 20th. Alongside them will be Bucyrus Elementary’s 3rd grade students, performing their own set of winter songs. After the dinner, the students will all remain together to sing The National Anthem for the home boys basketball game against Galion. (Go Redmen!)

If you haven’t already done so, don’t forget to visit us at www.BCSChoirs.webs.com and “Like” the showchoirs on Facebook: BCSShowchoirs.
